The Word Superb
The Word Superb returns! Linguistic acrobatics and physical madness abound in an energetic program of song and performance poetry from around the world.
This program features witty, silly, insightful and fun poetry and is an excellent introduction to the world of language and ideas for younger secondary students.
Three actors bring to life the works of Lewis Carroll, Roger McGough, Judith Wright, Elizabeth Honey, Public Enemy, Percy Shelly, C.J. Dennis, Fran Haraway, Pat Jordan, Banjo Patterson, Bob Dylan, Mohammad Ali, Melbourne hip-hop band T.R.S., Blackaliscious, William Shakespeare and even the Goons.
Storytelling, the investigation of rhyme, rhythm and the devices of poetry underpins the central theme of the performance.
