Our History
Complete Works Theatre Company (CWTC) is a touring company that produces and performs classical and contemporary theatre. While primarily focused in the sphere of secondary education the company is well positioned to stage and tour work to a broader Australian theatre public.
The company was formed in 1999 and became part DEECD's Strategic Partnerships Program in 2003. In consultation with teachers, students and arts professionals, CWTC continues to adapt and develop programs to ensure it remains a relevant and practical resource for student learning.
In 2009, 4 productions and 3 workshops were presented as incursions at 125 Victorian secondary schools. One main stage production was presented at 7 Melbourne metropolitan and regional theatres. Total audience reach was 31,740 students.
CWTC has collaborated with some of the state’s peak arts organisations including Regional Arts Victoria, Bendigo Art Gallery, VAPAC, 6PAC and the not for profit organisation The Song Room to develop and present creative arts projects and has been awarded Drama Victoria’s award for Best Educational Program for Drama students and/or teachers.
In collaboration with Professor John O'Toole and the Melbourne Graduate School of Education, University of Melbourne, CWTC produces drama components for the L.H. Martin Institute's Executive Leadership Programs.
