Presentation

This program is specifically designed for VCE students as an incursion to support their study of the play. In this exploration five actors perform key scenes with in depth analysis following each scene to help reveal the develpoments of plot, themes and character.

Synopsis

In 1970 Melbourne, Lewis, a young australian University student takes a job as a director of a play in a mental asylum. Powered on by the flamboyant Roy, the imates rehearse and stage a performance of Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutte. The play within the play echoes many of the characters’ own concerns. Their responses to the Vietnam war and the treatment of women, and their attempts to accept each others are all key issues in the play. Cosi also examines the divisive nature of society, and the arbitrary reasons given for those who are excluded. (VCE English/ESL Text List 2010, Supplement 3)
